Pricing
Free during the invite beta.
Bring your own keys. We don't take a cut of inference. When hosted plans ship, you'll see the price before you owe anything.

What BYOK actually means
Your keys, your account, your bill.
You paste your Anthropic and OpenAI API keys into Midlight's settings. They're stored encrypted (per-record data keys wrapped by a master key). When the agent makes a model call, Midlight routes it through your key — the inference cost shows up on your provider's bill, not ours.
What you'll spend.
Depends entirely on how much you use the agent. A typical heavy-usage day for the kind of user we're building for runs $1–$5 in Claude tokens, plus pennies for GPT critique passes. The hosted tier exists for people who don't want to think about it.
You can leave with everything.
Workspaces export as a folder of files. Markdown is markdown
whether you read it in Midlight, Obsidian, or cat dating/reflections.md. We don't trap your
data and there's no "Pro export" upsell.
What we charge for, eventually.
Hosting. Compute. Workspace storage. Versioned history. Multi-model routing. Memory infrastructure. The platform under the agent — not the agent's tokens. When that tier exists, the price will be transparent and the BYOK option will stay.
