Terms of use
What you and Midlight agree to.
Effective 2026-05-19 · invite-only beta. Plain-English version for the v1 invite phase. A formal Terms of Service ships before open signup.
The arrangement
You're an invited beta user. We give you a workspace and a tool that operates on it. You bring your own model provider keys. We don't charge you and we don't take a cut of inference. The service is provided as-is during the beta.
What you agree to
- You're an adult (16+) using Midlight for legitimate personal or professional work.
- You won't use Midlight to do anything illegal under the laws of your jurisdiction or ours.
- You won't attempt to break out of the workspace sandbox, attack shared infrastructure, or interfere with other users.
- You won't share your account with others. Invite codes are for one account each.
- You take responsibility for the content in your workspace, including anything the agent writes at your direction.
- You understand that bringing your own provider keys means the provider's terms of service also apply to those calls.
What we agree to
- We keep your data scoped to your account, encrypted at rest, and never use it to train models.
- We're transparent about how the agent works — every tool call is visible, every memory pull is logged, every file change is a commit.
- You can export your full workspace as a folder of files at any time. Markdown is markdown.
- We give you reasonable advance notice if the service changes materially or shuts down.
- Material breaches of trust on our side — data leak, unauthorized access — we disclose to affected users within 72 hours.
Beta caveat
This is a beta. Things will break. Data loss, while we work hard to prevent it, can happen. Keep important content backed up elsewhere. We're not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from beta use. By accepting your invite, you accept this risk.
If something goes wrong
Email [email protected]. We respond to beta users individually. There's no SLA during the invite phase, but we take support seriously because the people you're talking to are the ones who built it.
Termination
You can delete your account at any time and we'll remove your data within 30 days. We can terminate accounts that violate these terms or that endanger the service for other users. We try to give notice first.
Changes
We'll update this page as the product changes. Material changes get a plain-English email to active users with the diff.
